From the beach.... Maravu Plantation, Fiji
Maravu Plantation is located on Taveuni Island, Fiji's third largest. Known as the "Garden Island", about 60 percent of the land consists of tropical rainforest.
What we like about Maravu Plantation is the layout. The bures are totally independent of each other. They all have thatched roofs, and they are spread out on this former coconut plantation among lush grass and swaying palm trees. Honeymoon suites all have private outdoor showers and mini spas attached.
The atmosphere is peaceful,we liked the rustic-looking bures, and the service and food was wonderful. Spectacular Buomo Waterfalls is near by, and you can actually go swimming underneath - this tour is not-to-be-missed! Although not as luxurious as some resorts on Fiji, Maravu Plantation had a special charm to it, and that's why we selected it to go in our "Special Escapes".
